![]() And don't get me wrong, while I am clearly stating Intel gfx, embedded on the mobo, embedded in the CPU or otherwise has no place in a machine that's going to play games other than solitaire, it is not alone. All because of the (no offense) crap gfx chip. I do a lot of consumer system repair etc., and I cannot tell you in the last year how many customers I've received, both laptop and "value desktop" owners, who come in and complain that their system just can't play "game x" well and how they can't understand why, when they've got say an i5, i3, or AMD dual/quad core processor and how they've read about how much more powerful these cpu's are these days over previous generations (which is true) yet can't play, or rather CAN play, but it looks real bad (choppy, stuttering, blocky, you know) many titles out there that their system SHOULD breeze right through without hardly raising cpu utilization levels. It's a great and powerful machine (any Intel cpu-based system) but if you don't couple that Intel processor with an AMD or nVidia GPU, you just are going to get a minimal to sub-par gaming experience. Even an i7 coupled with an Intel gpu is going to suffer. Each plays leapfrog with the other in terms of innovation and technology, but Intel, no matter what they keep trying to say, Intel GPU's are just plain and simply not make for "gaming", including rendering powerful simulations as this. AMD GPU's and nVidia GPU's are both on par. The problem isn't necessarily as bothersome with AMD systems (though in my opinion AMD CPU's are less powerful than Intel ones) as the AMD GPU's are vastly superior to Intel. They have decided it's great marketing to crap their CPU with the GPU, thus several iterations of various manufacturer (HP, Lenovo, Dell, Toshiba, etc) get the opportunity to offer "cheap" but powerful (in terms of CPU) laptops. Here's the big problem with the current generation of laptops both by AMD and Intel. Note: If you did not get a reponse, even after 7 days, you may want to check out the FlightGear mailing lists to ask your question there. If you are seeing corrupted/broken textures, please see this article. To run FlightGear on old computers with bad OpenGL support, please take a look at this wiki article. If you experience FlightGear crashes, please report a bug using the issue tracker (can be also used for feature requests). please upload a screenshot of the problem. ![]() copy&paste your commandline (tick the "Show commandline box on the last page of FGRun or the "Others" section on the Mac launcher). is there any output printed to the console (black window)? does the problem occur with any aircraft, at any airport? what OS (Windows Xp/Vista, Mac etc.) are you running? Make sure to include answers to at least the following questions in your initial post. The wiki has more information on launching and running TerraSync. In order to help you, we need to know a lot of information. This utility runs in the background in a separate process, monitors your position, and downloads (or updates) the latest greatest scenery from the master scenery server “just in time”. There is a utility available (now built into FlightGear) called “TerraSync”. When downloading and installing scenery, the files are named according to the coordinates of their lower, left hand corner.
